City advises of low water pressure in Atlantic Beach Estate

The City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Department is currently attending to a leak on the water supply main feeding Atlantic Beach Estate. Full water pressure should be restored as soon as repairs are completed. Read more below:

The City of Cape Town is today, 9 November 2020, attending to a leak on the 300mm diameter pipeline feeding the Atlantic Beach Estate area.

This is resulting in low pressure to the area, as supply has had to be brought in via an alternative (smaller) pipeline. Repairs should be completed by midday tomorrow, by which time any drop in pressure should have been resolved.

Residents are kindly requested to minimise their non-essential water consumption during this period to assist in maintaining supply. Residents may notice a brief period of discolouration in the water when normal supply is restored, however this is not cause for concern. Repairs and maintenance can dislodge sediment, which has built up in the pipes, and re-pressurising pipes can sometimes give water a cloudy/murky appearance.

The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused and assures residents in the affected area that it is doing its utmost to restore the water supply as soon as possible.
